🇦🇺💚💛 DINESH PATEL — AUSTRALIAN FLAGBEARER 💛💚🇦🇺
It is with enormous pride and genuine emotion that Blackball Australia Pool Association (BAPA) announces that Dinesh Patel will carry the Australian flag at the 2026 WPA World Blackball Championships in London, UK.
There are moments in sport that mean more than winning a match, lifting a trophy or standing on a podium.
This is one of those moments.
Dinesh has given so much of himself to BAPA and to the development of Blackball across Australia. His contribution has never simply been about the game itself — it has been about the people, the players, the teams and the future of our sport.
Through countless hours behind the scenes, his dedication, commitment and willingness to help have played an important part in building Blackball in Australia and helping our sport move forward.
Most recently, Dinesh made the decision to step down from his role as BAPA Treasurer. While we thank him for his service in that position, his contribution to BAPA and Australian Blackball goes far beyond any title or committee position.
Dinesh is a true ambassador for our sport.
He represents everything that we want Australian Blackball to stand for — passion, respect, dedication, sportsmanship, friendship and service to others.
And now, in front of the world, Dinesh will have the incredible honour of leading our Australian squad into the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 WPA World Blackball Championships, carrying the Australian flag with pride.
We couldn't think of anyone more deserving.
Dinesh, from everyone at BAPA and throughout Australian Blackball:
Thank you.
As you walk into that arena in London carrying the Australian flag, know that you won't be carrying it alone.
You'll be carrying the pride of Australian Blackball with you.Â
We hope you take a moment to look around, soak it all in and realise just how much this honour means to the people who have shared this journey with you.
Congratulations Dinesh Patel — our Australian Flagbearer for the 2026 WPA World Blackball Championships.
Carry it proudly. Carry it for Australia.
