EVENT INFORMATION
Welcome to the new BAPA Blackball Australia IPA World league being held in conjunction with the International Professional Pool Players Association (IPA). We are delighted to have joined up with the IPA to offer this new opportunity to Blackball Pool Players in Australia and Oceania.
The inaugural year will see 3 seperate eight ball competition events taking place over the year of 2023, as part of the new World League BAPA will be introducing a Professional Blackball event for Men & Ladies along with Amateur events and Pro-Am for both Men & Ladies all events will be held on the same weekend.
All these events will take place at the Deer Park Club, 780 Ballarat Road, Deer Park, Victoria 3023 where we are very pleased to have forged a good working relationship with the venue to host many of our events to come.
The venue is located just 20 mins from the main Tullamarine airport that will be great for inter- state players.
We will also see the introduction of a new Official Australia Blackball player ranking system that will be made up by 8 different events, the ranking system will cover all recognised BAPA events and the IPA World League will make up 3 of these events. The IPA world league will also have its own ranking system just for IPA Australia events.
As part of the new World League, BAPA will be introducing a professional event where for the first year this will be made up by 16 Men players and 8 Ladies. These players will be able to buy a pro place for the year 2023. The men Pro's will play in the main World League and the Ladies Pro's will play in the Women's World League, along with the Pro's there will also be amateur events taking place that both men and ladies can play in.
Also as part of the IPA World League along with of course prize money being paid from each event the final top 2 Men Pro Players will gain entry into the IPA tour events that are held in England each year. There are 5 IPA tour events per year in England, the 2 lucky Australian Men Pro players will be given wild card entries into the IPA Pro events and also entered into the Pro- Am events. Further details on this will be available once we know the interest in joining the World League here in Australia.
We will also have a Ladies world league, this will include the 8 Pro's. The final top 1 lady player will be given the same opportunity as the Men Pro players in joining the IPA tour events in England.
3 Events Dates:
Event 1 - AUSTRALIAN OPEN
Fri 18th, Sat 19th, Sun 20th August.
Event 2 - IMPRESSION CUES CLASSIC
Fri 29th, Sat 30th September, Sun 1st October.
Event 3 - OCEANIA OPEN
Fri 1st, Sat 2nd, Sun 3rd December.
Men's World League Format:
Professional League- 16 Men Players
Professional Men – Single Elimination - 1st & 1/4 Finals race to 8, Semi's 9, Final 10 Pro-Am – Single Elimination- Rounds Race to 7, Semi's 8, Final 8
Entry fees for Pro's include entry into Pro event and Pro-Am's.
Ranking points available for all events.
Players must purchase Official BAPA/IPA World League Shirts to wear at all events.

Ladies World League Format:
Professional league : 8 Players

Amateur's Format:
Amateur - 32 Players
Entry fees for Amateur's include entry into Amateur and Pro-am events
Pro-Am is for both Men and Ladies combined.
Amateur – Double Elimination Race to 7/5 - Up to Last 8 then Knockout race to 7
Pro-Am – Single Elimination- Rounds Race to 7, Semi's 8, Final 8

Draws/Schedules:
The draws and schedules are usually available online around 10 days before the event. If you have an issue with your match times you should contact BAPA as soon as possible at blackballaus@gmail.com.
Where possible we will try to accommodate a later start time in exceptional circumstances but this cannot be guaranteed.
The World League will be 3 full days of action – Times will be worked out depending on entries and players will be notified well in advance.
Official Playing Polo Shirts:
It is an entry requirement for all players to wear the official playing tops for the World League and these can be ordered through the official provider ICON Sportswear through our online store. You can find our online store at www.icon-sports.com.au and orders should be placed before the 30th June 2023 in order to receive your top at the 1st Tour. Any player not wearing the official polo playing shirt will have to forfeit their match.
You will be provided with 2 shirts within your entry fee and then additional shirts can be purchased for a cost of $60 each, they come in 3 different of colours.
Personal sponsor logos are allowed up to a maximum of 4 logos. However personal logos that are in conflict with BAPA will not be permitted to be worn on the live stream table/interviews etc.

Standards of behaviour:
The BAPA/IPA World League will be a professionally ran event and we expect all players to conduct themselves appropriately at all times, especially during matches. Bad behaviour will be severely dealt with, through either a fine, or suspension from the World League.
Social Media:
We do ask players to share all posts that we put out for the BAPA/IPA World League on our Facebook pages. It only takes a second and can provide huge benefits to the World League in terms of increased awareness, higher profile etc, which makes us more attractive to potential sponsors.

Men Professionals – $1,620
Ladies Professionals - $1,120
Male Amateurs – $870
Amateur Ladies / Junior – $720
